Katie had a big fall yesterday. She didn't fall from very far but she landed face first on a metal surge protector. Since metal doesn't give, Katie's tooth did. I didn't notice that her top front tooth was out of place until a couple hours after it happened. She bit the inside of her lower lip really good and there was a large amount of blood. I did look at her lower teeth as much as she would let me. By the time I noticed the that top tooth was pushed back, her dentists office was already closed. Will and I took her this morning to the dentist. I'm glad he came with me because he had to hold her down to get an xray taken. It also required 3 dental assistants. The good news is the there is no fracture. The bad news is that she hit it hard enough that it may have to be removed. If we keep it really clean and it doesn't get infected she should be able to keep it. But I its kinda up in the air right now. We go back next week to check it and probably the week after that. Katie had to give up her binkie due to the injury. She had a hard time going to sleep tonight but she did it. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better. I have to say that pediatric dental offices are so cool. I wish I could go there. There are toys and video games and tv's in the ceiling, balloons and a toy chest at the exit. There is even a child size door going from the waiting room into the back room. But the best part was the xray technology. Instead of those hard uncomfortable things they stick in adult mouths, they had this soft sensor and the xray came up within seconds on their monitors. The sensor had to be held by the dental assistant because Katie completely freaked out and screamed during the whole xray process. It took 3 times to get one picture. Quite an experience. The people there are so good with kids though. Everyone cross your fingers that my baby doesn't lose a tooth.
