When are you going back to work? - Writers strike video...

I've avoided posting striking writer video. Most are very funny (especially the one from the comedy central guys (Daily Show and Colbert Report)) however, they are very specific in their messages and very topical about striking writers. I felt this video was funny on its own - which was the whole point of the video.

Announcing the gumball!

For those wondering what Tonya and I have been up to (besides working, raising a two year old (almost two, and fighting over what house to buy), this is the answer...

Katie (the jellybean) is having a gumball... I mean sibling.

Gumball - 0
Gunball - 1
Gumball - 2

We announced it to the family at Thanksgiving dinner, or rather we had Katie announce it. I wispered in her ear: "Where is the baby?" and she said on cue: "Baby in mommie's tummy!" We had to have her repeat it a few times so every one could hear and comprehend. She was very excited to tell everyone about the baby in mommie's tummy.

Gaming with Katie...

Last night I did something new with Katie that some would consider child abuse (I say some thing new because some people would consider golf balls abuse or they way I swinger her around and toss her onto the couch and her bed abuse). I played HalfLife2 with her.

After failing to complete HL2 twice (I was on the last level each time when I lost my save files for various reasons). I put together a new gaming system for the primary purpose of completing HalfLife2 (I will complete this one! I never finished the first one. I didn't have enough ammo to kill the last giant spider thing.).

Katie came in while I was playing and was watching (there was train on the screen when she came in, it caught her attention). She was very upset when I left the area of the train, but she wanted to sit in my lap. So I put her in my lap and played HL2. She helped me shoot the bad guys, or rather she helped my not shoot the bad guys as when the game got exciting she like to help hit the keys. It is really hard to play a game when you have a toddler hitting the space bar (jump) and F9 (minimize game) among others. However, I had fun and so did she. She was very excited afterwards.

I wasn't much older then her when I started playing video games and I was about her age when I was exposed to GI Joes and such so I'm not really worried about playing a little HL2 with her. I hope she always enjoys video games. I do plan on putting limits on her gaming but only so that she doesn't sit inside all the time playing games instead of reading or playing outside.

Abortion underfire...

The adoption vs. abortion myth - Los Angeles Times

As a just-published Guttmacher Institute study shows, abortion rates are extremely high in many countries where contraceptives are not readily available and contraceptive use is not encouraged, even though abortion is highly restricted in those places by law. And the world's lowest rates of abortion by far are found in Western Europe, where very few legal restrictions are placed on abortion but contraceptive use and comprehensive sex education are widespread.

There isn't much else to say...
