The Holidaze...

Christmas was a busy time around the Deutsch house. This year the holidays managed to eat up about 2 weeks of our lives. First, there was all the shopping. All while we were still unpacking and getting settled in our new place. That ate up all the time before Christmas. Well, that and the day before the day before Christmas when I went riding on KTM 125SX.

Christmas involved getting to the San Francisco Opera house after for dinner and the Nut Cracker (when I got back from my ride and Tonya was home from work). We headed to my parents house so we could make it to her parents house the next day.

Christmas eve involved rushing to the mall so Tonya could pickup her contacts at Lens Crafters in Sacramento. While there we wandered around a little and looked for a Dresser. (I gave Tonya 2 dressers for Christmas.) Then we headed to her mothers house. There we had an early Christmas with her brothers and step-sister and our step-niece and nephew. We had deep fried turkey and all the usual trimmings. Dessert was some homemade pies. Very yummy.

The next morning was Christmas at the Deutsch house. All of my siblings were there. My brother's girlfriend Diedra was there, and Prashant came buy since his wife and daughter are in India... Actually, he would have come by anyway, but they would have been there too. The morning started with the traditional present opening, then we had Indian food for lunch (my dad and Prashant ran out at 2:30pm to get us some thing to snack on so we wouldn't die before the turkey and fixings were ready). We finished off the day with dinner and relaxing and dessert.

The day after Christmas Tonya dragged me to the mall to look for a dresser. We didn't find one. So we met my parents for lunch at BJs brew house or something like that. (The are a SoCal chain that in invading NorCal.) We then went to see if my mom's favorite jewelry store was open (they were going out of business but closed). We ended up at Throttle Wear. They were having a great sale so my parents, Tonya and I bought gifts for ourselves. Things we wanted but didn't get for Christmas. Later that day Tonya and I headed home.

We both went to work the next day. But for me that was it for the week. Tuesday was my birthday. I spent my birthday at home relaxing. That night my parents, Shelly, Alyssa, Ken, Tonya, and I went for Cuban in Palo Alto. Shane arrived as we were finishing up dessert.

The next day I went riding in Hollister all by my lonesome. I only brought my KTM 125SX since my YZ has been so unreliable as of late. Given that I was likely to be trail riding only, I didn't want to be a mile in and have the bike die. On the way out I backed into a very low fence post that was too low to see in the mirrors or with the bike in the back. The damage was minimal (I got a quote for $200 to $400 depending on if the dent comes out with out hurting the paint). I was bummed. After such a good day, that happened. Then in the drive way. The wind blew my KTM over. Not just over, but all the way over as in more then 90 degrees. The bike was leaning to the right the wind stood it up and dropped it on the left side. Now, I was really bummed. The fall twisted the foot peg on the left side. :-(

The next few days we chilling at home and doing more move in work. I put up towel bars in the bath room. Got the VOIP system up. I took down the Christmas tree and cut it up in to little bits that would fit in the Sunnyvale yard waste can. Disposed of the Christmas waste.

New years eve we spent some time at Mike Rubin's place. It was fun. Tonya wasn't feeling well so we left shortly after midnight.

The final day of the two week holiday period we went to Ikea and picked out two dressers. One is out of stock so it will be little while, the other is nice and is now living in our bedroom fully assembled. I managed to use a bunch of the tools I got my birthday while building it.

That is the end of our holiday period.
