I have been totally bad this past week or so about blogging. I have an excuse. I'm getting ready for Hang Town. For those that don't want to click the link, hangtown is a motocross race track that is about 5 miles from my parents house. I'll be running in the 125 C class and the 25+ C class. I'll be riding my '02 YZ250F.
In order to prepare I'm doing a few things. I've started running between 3 and 5 miles a night before bed. I've also been going to the MX track that is by my house. I can currently get around the track with out killing myself. At my best I can do it without looking like a moron at my worst I survive the experience. I've been working on my turns and my jumps and over all riding endurance. Motocross races are all about endurance. Motos (the races them selves) are 30+ minutes long. So for 30+ minutes you have to ride your best and hardest. It also involves some nasty terrain changes. The track at hangtown is much larger and more technical then the one I've been riding. Well see how it goes.
I also have to do some work on my MX bike. I need to replace the handle bars and hand guards. Both have been bent and damaged over time. I also have to fix and oil leek in the clutch cover and problematic front brake line. Finally I have to replace the tires...
My goals for the race at to finish. I want to complete both classes. I don't really care what place I finish but I will finish.
