My day at Leguna Seca

Wednesday the 26th of November I rode to Leguna Seca on my 2002 Triumph Daytona 955i Centennial.

Some photos here: Me: 318, 319 and 320 John: 313 and 314 (Feel free to buy me a picture of myself from Ian for me!)

The day started really really wet. The fog the night before left a very wet track. During our sighting laps when we were following the instructor (I was following Craig Hansen. He was throwing a 4 foot roster tail in turn 6 and through the corkscrew. After one more lead around and two sessions by the B group the main line through the track was dry except turn 6 and the corkscrew. Through out the morning the track dried out, but never warmed up. Given my arm issues and the temperature of the track and the newness of my bike I took it easy. I was slower then last time I was at the track on a BMW R1100GS borrowed from a friend. The day went fast. 8 people in the A group went down. I believe they were all from Canada. They were all pushing hard and I think each of them tucked the front. In my last session my last complete lap, two guys tucked the front right in front of me. The first guy trail braked too hard and went down. The next guy jammed on his brakes because he was afraid of hitting the other guy.

At the end of the day, John and I celebrated that we didn't crash. We went the whole day starting wet on a cold day and we didn't crash. We were very happy. That night, John trailered my bike to my house and I rode from my house to Sacramento.
