Thruxton 900

I have a new bike obsession, the Triumph Thruxton 900 in black. I love the classic cafe racer look. It has been a while since anyone had a bike on the market that had these looks and didn't completly suck. The Thruxton isn't going to be amazing in performance but it will be OK and it will look GREAT. It won't be available in the US untill late spring.

Just saw the Thruxton 900 at the Cycle World bike show in San Mateo. It is beautiful and the first impression is usually,"It looks like a motorcycle-not a skateboard." You can buy faster- but those of us old time Triumph people probably shouldn't go faster than it will take us. Remember, "There's Uncle Joe - He's a movin' kinda slow" - That's us!

I almost missed out. I'm getting the last Thruxton my local dealer is going to get. :) Mine is red, and I'm trading in my Aprilia to get it. Enough overkill. I need some good old-fashioned class! Besides, it'll look good in the garage next to my '97 Trophy.

I picked up mine on May 1. After 1200 amazing miles, this bike has exceeded all my expectations. This is more than a mere machine, it is romance in motion!

I am currently in Iraq serving a stint with Uncle Sam's Army. I ordered a new Thruxton from a dealer here/there in Kansas. He emailed and said it will be here/there in a few days. I cannot wait to go home on leave and take it for a spin. I have heard next to nothing negative about this bike. I am very excited. I would love to hear from current Thruxton owners on how it performs and if they are having any problems. Thanks for the post and if you see a soldier, thank him!
