I went to see the Dixie Chicks on Wednesday night. I missed Michelle Branch because of dinner a very fast but nice dinner.
The show was great. The stage was round and the Chicks circled around making sure to play to every section of the HP Pavilion. Most of what they played was from their latest album. They had a lot of energy and kept the crowd going. They finished up the concert with a sneak peak of the video for Top Of the World. All of the songs were performed great. They played all of my favorites except: You Were Mine. Which is a very sad song about a man who has run off with another women.
One of my favorite parts of the concert was the speech before and performance of Truth No. 2. They made reference to the whole Bush controversy. It was great. They didn't over do it, but they made it clear that the right to say what you believe is important. They also had some great background footage while they played of all kinds on injustice and censorship. Some the videos were Nazi book burning, some from the civil rights movement, and some were video of people steam rolling their Dixie Chicks CDs. I was proud to here their message.
