Bikes waiting for people
My bike is sitting in between the 2 GSs.

My Daytona and gear
Note the sticker on my helmet: Problem Child
Half the group at the first gas stop
We had somewhere between 30 and 40 riders.
More of the group at the first gas stop
People milling around waiting for bathroom and gas.
The final part of the group at the first gas stop
K1200RS in the four ground, people talking. Two R1150GSs sitting in the sun.
People waiting for the bathroom
One bathroom 30 or 40 riders... The bath room was co-ed. Immodest guys shared the bathroom since there was a toilet and a urinal...
Kari getting ready to go
This was the end of the first gas stop.
Leaving Hollister
Loading to go
Almost ready to go
Oops
This R6 wasn't part of our group. He lost it while riding with our group and slid the bike into a fence. He was OK. Got off when he realized he was going down. His bike was less then OK. I talked to him after wards and it seem bent but OK.
Coalinga RD and 25 turn off
This is just after the R6 (he was 3 turns back just around that bend).
People talking about the R6 crash
This is a couple riding a R100RT. They were getting ready to go after talking about the R6 crash and the guy with the blown clutch (not pictured).
One of the GSs leaving
The other guy was getting ready to leave too.
Nightmare1
I crested a hill to find several people and a heavy rescue truck. A Yamha R1 had crashed and crashed badly.
Nightmare2
This was the first view I got of the rider and his bike... The drop from where I was standing (where he went off) to where his bike is about 20' or so... some said 30'.
Nightmare3
Nightmare4
That is the heap that was his R1.
Nightmare5
Bike from fellow riders who were helping. (I was directing traffic.)
Nightmare6
Lone bike piece and rope for descent to the scene. His R1 was silver.
Nightmare7
His bike is the pile of silver at the bottom of the hill. See the way the hill is torn up (diagnal). His bike was flying down the hill and he was thrown clear. He landed right where you see him.
Nightmare8
EMTs from the firehouse were working on him. He was knocked out and not really alert. He wasn't brilliant. He crashed yesterday and tore up his leg. He was on vicoden when he crashed for the damage to his leg. He crested the hill at about 90mph. The bike in front of him almost didn't make the corner.
Nightmare9
Anouther shot of his bike.
Nightmare10
K1200RS that crashed on this ride last year. This is the heavy rescue truck from the front.
Nightmare11
A small bit of his R1 in a bush behind the barbwire he crashed through.
Nightmare12
He still has his helmet on and is being stablized.
Nightmare13
My finger and two rescue trucks.
Nightmare14
Ambulance with people coming and going.
Nightmare15
Skid mark when he got serious about trying to stop his bike.
Nightmare16
Nightmare17
More skid marks... and my bike waiting for me.
Nightmare18
He might have been distracted by the awesome view. Or it may have been that he was doing 90mph on Vicoden and was suprised by the corner.
Nightmare19
Rescue worker marking helicopter landing pad.
Nightmare20
Follow the line from his skid to the dirt... You can sort of see where the fence was torn open and he went through.
Nightmare21
Here you can see his tire tracks through the dirt... (See the track through the grass?) It ends as it intersects with the fence. Which as near as I can tell means he took air there.
Perkos with Kari and Gail
We got to Perkos in Coalings just as everyone else was leaving.
Gail in her helmet
Here is gail taking off her helmet. The four of us were getting ready to eat.
People leaving
People in the background were getting ready to leave.
Then there were six
There are six people including me. The bikes are K1200LT, R1150R, R1150GS, R100GS, Sprint RS 955i, and my Daytona 955i.
Six little indians
Everyone is wareing different kinds of gear and on different bikes.
Gas station while Kari finishes
Kari and Gail match, except Kari has the "team" jacket.
Back at hollister
We use the Cheveron station in Hollister as a home base.
Shooting the breeze
We flew from Coalinga to Hollister along 25. I mean flew.
Gail gassing up
When she arrived gail and the R100GS were about 5 minutes back.
Here is the GS
Note the bunnie ears on his helmet.
More ears
Kari getting ready to leave
The guy on the R100GS
Gail chilling
We spent some time chilling at the Chevron before leaving.
Sprint RS 955i
Kari and the Sprint kind of were in the lead, I was about 1/4 mile behind. I was slower in the corners and faster in the straits.
Little girl
This is the daughter of the family that seems to own the gas station. She was really cute. When were getting ready to leave she came out and said the first thing to us she has said all day. She started saying: "bye, bye!" She waived and watched us leave.
Cute girl again
When I saw here the first time we stopped she was crying for her daddy. Her parents seem to try really hard to balance paying attention to her and running the gas station.
Kari gassing up
We were all ready to go and Kari decided after all was said and done to get gas. Then we went home. We took 25 to a back road on the other side of 101 and continued our two lane romp. We flew along those roads until we hit San Jose propper. Then we took 85 home.
